In 2007, Scottie Urmey, LCSW, TEP decided to start sharing what she had studied and loved for decades: the theory and application of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. Her first presentation in 2007 at Monmouth University School of Social Work's Honor Society event started what is now Psychodrama New Jersey, LLC.

 

After presenting dozens of trainings and workshops at universities, hospitals, non-profit agencies, national and local conferences, and independently, Scottie officially formed Psychodrama New Jersey, LLC in 2012 as an institute for psychodrama training and clinical psychotherapy. Scottie continues to welcome students and professionals with education and expertise from various fields and backgrounds into workshops and training programs at Psychodrama New Jersey. 

 

In January 2015, Psychodrama New Jersey found a home within the Therapeutic Arts Co-Op on Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, NJ with beloved colleagues and friends. Continuing to grow, Psychodrama New Jersey has expanded, offering more clinical, training, educational and personal growth opportunities.
